Outfit: Midi Skirts & Afternoon Tea at The Conrad London St James
Take a shot every time a blogger makes an Eminem joke ('guess who's back... Back again') after an extended blogging hiatus. In hindsight, maybe don't do that- could be messy! But I am back, and hopefully with a bang (oh good, another cliche blogger phrase, we're off to a cracking start!) I have four posts scheduled and more in the pipeline so stay poised and ready.
Today's post is all about the afternoon tea myself and two friends, Steph and Louisa, decided to book spontaneously, high on the idea of being sophisticated 'ladies who lunched.' We needed a venue and I needed a suitable outfit. Fortunately, I think we nailed both. Step forward The Conrad London St James and Emmeline's Lounge, their place to go for a dreamy afternoon tea. We booked through Afternoon Tea's website and got a deal which included Scones, sandwiches, a selection of appetisers and of course, a dessert tray to die for. Along with the food we had unlimited tea and champagne to boot, which was a real treat that we took full advantage of.
We arrived early and chilled out in their bar, with tea and biscuits before spending several hours chatting, consuming delicious cakes and of course, sipping champagne in Emmelines. The hotel is beautiful and the interiors are, elegant yet cosy- truly to die for! So, we were more than happy to relax and unwind for a while in the lounge and didn't feel like we were rushed out the door after finishing all our treats.
The food was incredible, with the appetisers being a surprise addition to a traditional afternoon tea (although a much welcomed one!)
I decided to wear my statement print midi skirt, which I got for a steal price from a stall in Spitalfields Market- in the Shoreditch area of London, and team it up with some vintage and antique accessories and the classic bardot style top that has been so well loved this Summer. I wore flats (although looking at this post now, I wish I'd sucked it up and gone for heels) as we made a day of it and did some shopping and sightseeing after the tea.
It was a really lovely day and great to spend some quality girl time with my friends. Have any of you ever been for Afternoon Tea in The Conrad London? Let me know in the comments below!
