Jimbo's Opinion: Vivant Skincare Green Tea Antioxidant Cleanser

So, you guys may remember a while back we spoke about a new feature.. 'The Camera's Lying will be starting a new feature very soon! Its going to be called 'In which I Allow Jimbo an Opinion...' For those of you who don't know, Jimbo (or James) is my boyfriend of nearly 4 years. I thought it would be nice for my readers to not only hear a female point of view on products, but also a male point of view.

So, in this new feature, both Jimbo and I will be trialing skincare and hair care products for period of time before giving you guys a full run down of our thoughts. Not only will you be getting my feminine, beauty obsessed point of view, you will also be gaining a more down to earth, male point of view. As we also have different hair and skin types it will be interesting to see our different reactions to various products.' ...If you don't remember this, click here to refresh yourself.

Today, we are reviewing Vivant Skincare's Green Tea Antioxidant Cleanser* (2oz). Which is marketed as a cleanser for all skin types.
But first lets visit the brand: Vivant Skin Care's tag line is 'Stop worrying about your skin and start living your life' so before I'd even looked at the sample I was being offered, I was intrigued. Vivant Skin Care say: 'For more than 40 years, Vivant® Skin Care has been dedicated to providing potent, medically-proven dermatological therapies. There’s no fluff, just purposeful skin care solutions. Our line is inspired by our Lead Formulating Consultant's personal struggle with acne. Dr. James E. Fulton, MD, Ph.D., co-developer of Retin-A®, formulates skin care products designed to treat skin conditions such as acne, hyperpigmentation and aged skin.'

The cleanser costs $11 for the 2oz version or $29.50 and $53.50 for the 8 and 16 oz bottles, respectively.

Amy's Opinion

Lets be honest, the packaging is bog standard. Nothing pretty or fancy here. However the squeezy bottle means its easy to get out all the product and at $11 for 2oz I'll certainly be scraping the barrel for the last dregs! Since using the cleanser my skin has appeared more vibrant and my complexion a lot more healthy. I've had no breakouts during the usage of this product and found a little goes a long way. It comes out of the tube in a gel formula and then lathers up. Its cool on your skin which, combined with the fresh scent of green tea and freshly mown grass -yes, really!- its great at waking up your skin on the mornings. I like this product a lot, but have to think- does it compare to my current cleanser 'Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish?' For everyday use the answer is no. But, if my skin is oily or spotty- I'll be cracking this bad boy out to clear it up in no time!

Jimbo's Opinion

So what's my opinion on the Vivant green tea antioxidant cleanser? Well unlike Miss Fancy over here I think the packaging is quite proffesional with an almost medical look to it. I'm always willing to try new tea based products and as Amy says it's easy to apply and you don't need much, and I too don't seem to have as many breakouts whilst using this product (when I actually remember to use it...), so I feel that this is one of those rare skin care products that actually works on me. I don't think my face has ever been "vibrant" and I didn't really notice a change, but it still gives a fresh, clean feel after using it.
To be honest I can't really compare this to anything other that high street products, but I can defintely say it works a lot more efficiently than them and I do very much prefer it, almost so much that I'm willing to pay $11 for the 2oz bottle, even if I feel that it is very slightly over priced, it's kinda worth it.
